William Chisholm

 

 

 

 

Bill Chisholm has been a managing director of Symphony Technology Group since its inception in 2002. At STG, Bill leads the firm`s investments activities and takes an active role in the day-to-day management of STG Group companies. Bill has led Symphony`s investments in SymphonyIRI, MSC.Software, Intentia (merged with Lawson Software, NASDAQ: LWSN), Symphony Services, IMI (merged with CDC Corp., NASDAQ: CHINA), GERS, Aldata (HLSE: ALD1V), Netik, and Symphony Marketing Solutions (sold to Genpact NYSE: G). Bill has seats on the boards of directors of Aldata, Netik, MSC Software and First Advantage.

 

Prior to joining Symphony, Bill spent the previous seven years advising and investing in software and information services companies at Bain & Company and The Valent Group. At Bain & Company, Bill worked extensively in the firm`s Private Equity Group and Technology practice and co-founded Bain Ventures. As a co-founder and managing director at The Valent Group, an early stage venture firm, Bill invested in the enterprise software sector in emerging and successful companies including Trigo Technologies (NYSE: IBM) and Counterpane (LSE: BT.A). Previously, Bill worked as an investment banker at PaineWebber Incorporated. Bill graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from The Wharton School with an MBA with Distinction.
