Industry Veteran to Drive Innovation in Information and Analytics Across Healthcare Sector
Symphony Health Solutions, a provider of high-value data, analytics, and technology based solutions for life science manufacturers, payers and providers, today announced the appointment of William Nelligan as Chief Executive Officer. Launched in May, Symphony Health Solutions was formed by the Symphony Technology Group (STG) by combining four complementary healthcare insight companies, including AlphaDetail, ImpactRx, Source Healthcare Analytics and TargetRx, into a customer-centric firm focused on innovation within the industry.
Nelligan joins Symphony Health Solutions following a successful, multi-decade career running healthcare information services businesses first with Thomson Healthcare and then with IMS Health for more than 10 years, where he held multiple positions, including SVP Emerging Markets, President of Asia Pacific, and most recently President, U.S. and Americas.
“The mission of Symphony Technology Group is to build great customer-centric companies that leverage data, analytics and technology and innovate continuously to maximize the value they deliver to clients,” said Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, Chairman and CEO of STG. “We are building Symphony Health Solutions to serve an industry that is undergoing dramatic change. As a customer-centric, highly innovative company we must deliver breakthrough insights and enable our clients to make strategic decisions faster to achieve maximum commercial outcomes in this rapidly transforming industry. In this context, we are delighted that Bill Nelligan has joined Symphony Health Solutions as CEO. He knows our industry extremely well, both in terms of where service providers have succeeded in delivering value, but also in understanding that the health insights industry has not kept pace with the changes in this complex and rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystem. Bill and our entire leadership team have a passionate commitment to transform our company and industry to meet the business needs and value expectations of life sciences clients and to enable value-creating collaboration between life sciences companies, payers, government and providers.”
“It is clear the healthcare marketplace is undergoing dramatic change, marked by massive shifts in stakeholder influence on healthcare decisions, and this creates an enormous opportunity for Symphony Health Solutions to lead the evolution of the health information industry,” said Bill Nelligan. “Through the combination of our strong foundation of capabilities, our clear focus on new market requirements, and STG’s experience and expertise we will deliver technology-enabled solutions to innovate the way our clients set strategy and measure performance. I am enthusiastic about the challenge and opportunity to advance our business in a critical industry.”
Symphony Health Solutions is comprised of Source Healthcare Analytics and ImpactRx, which recently acquired TargetRx and AlphaDetail. The businesses will be integrated with a focus on strong joint value propositions for clients and innovation. In addition to Bill Nelligan as CEO, the current management teams of the businesses, Greg Ellis, President and CEO, ImpactRx; Bob Jansen, President Source Commercial & GM and Michelle Woker, President Source Operations, will continue in their respective roles.
